In our American culture, you have been told to be succesful you have to become something bigger than yourself. This world says in order to be a "somebody" you have to be recognized for something of great importance - become larger than life!
True success, becoming a somebody, is not measured in dollars, prestige or the number of supposed friends you have. Rather, it is measured by the amount of peace one has in their mind and soul... and Who better to rest in for that peace than Jesus Christ!
Paul told the church at Colosse to "seek those things that are above" and to remember that their "lives were hid in Christ" (Col. 3:1-4). Like the wild preacher John the Baptist said, "I must decrease and He must increase!" These men knew HOW to become a somebody - it was to become a nobody who has placed trust and faith in the Almighty Lord!
Do you want your life to count for something? Then aim for His Kingdom while abasing yourself; seek Christ with all your soul and let your desire for this world hunger. He is all that you need for true happiness - Finding Him will make you a somebody!
