"And Moses was content to dwell with the man:"
Exodus 2:21
This was not how Moses envisioned his destiny -
a murderer, running for his life from the most powerful man in the world, and living amongst strangers. He had been raised by his mother in the house of Pharaoh, received the best education possible and no doubt been told that God had a "special purpose" for his life. He was the kid that escaped an early assassination, left to drift in the Nile, only to be rescued by a member of the royal family... that has PROMISE stamped all over it, right?
Though when Moses attempts to do God's Will (or what he thought was God's Will...), he totally messes it up. Instead of waiting on God while in Pharaoh's palace, he jumps the gun and attempts to bring down the evil regime - one soldier at a time.
His eagerness to obtain that which was not yet appropriated for him, led to a man who was scared, running for his life. No doubt he questioned himself as to whether or not he had ruined God's Will for his life with his impulsive actions. So when everything came to a head, and he found himself in an unfamiliar place, he said, "I will be content." Moses decided to just stop, be patient, wait on the Lord and
be happy doing so. His journey led him to a man, Reuel, and at that point in his life Moses decided it was best to just wait for God to lead him.

Maybe your impulsiveness has led you to make mistakes... Maybe your decisions have caused you to think, "Man, I've screwed up big time!" and thus you are living a life of open bitterness and distress. I encourage you - be like Moses. Be content. Be satisfied with where you are (within reason) for the time being and allow God, from this point forward, to direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5&6).
